The MT101 (STC SA1235SO) Belly Drain adds one additional fuel sample drain to the lowest point in the fuel system for 1966 C150F's through 1985 C152's, including all Aerobats. A different model (MT101-1) is required for 1959 through 1965 Cessna 150's. Cessna 150's and 152's have a capped T fitting in the fuel line just forward of the fuel shutoff valve. Water in the fuel system will settle at the lowest point. A very small quantity of water in the fuel system can freeze and block the flow of fuel in freezing temperatures. During annual inspection the T fitting is uncapped to allow water, dirt and other contamination in the fuel system to be flushed out. Because the T fitting is located in the lowest point of the fuel system, the amount of contamination that ends up in the cap can be impressive. Adding an MT101 belly drain to the fuel line T coupling allows contamination to be easily removed daily or before each flight as required. The MT101 has been fully FAA/PMA STC'd since 1981, and has proved to be one of the least expensive and effective ways to decrease fuel contamination and increase safety. Installation takes less than 15 minutes. The MT101 kit includes a CAV-110 fuel sample valve assembled to an anodized machined aluminum MT101 thread adapter, an aluminum crush washer, STC, installation, and continued airworthiness documentation, and placards for both light and dark colored instrument panels.
